RESILIENCY REFLECTION PAPER ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

OVERVIEW
1 Timothy 4:6-11
You will detail your understanding of resiliency through the hermeneutical lens of 1 Timothy 4:6-11 and offer a scholarly definition for resiliency and biblical application. Current Turabian format must be used including writing in the third person style.

INSTRUCTIONS

In a 4-page typewritten, double-spaced Turabian style paper, following the given format you will detail your understanding of resiliency through the hermeneutical lens of this passage. The paper should include the sections of description and prescription. Description engages the hermeneutical/exegesis of the passage; prescription engages the personal implementation/application of the passage.

The paper must include at least 4 references from books and/or scholarly journal articles in addition to the Bible. Commentaries are a good scholarly source for exegesis.

This reflection paper must be treated as a short research paper. It will be primarily judged on the coherence of the arguments/conclusions presented. It will also be evaluated on other objective criteria. The essay must demonstrate a master’s-level use of the English language. This assignment requires critical thinking, logical progression of thought, and appropriate organization. In addition, you must meet the following standards of style and form:
• Adhere to current Turabian format utilizing the Turabian Sample Paper (with headings) as found in the Writing Guide course link. • Use 1″ margins on all 4 sides.
• Double-space your text.
• Use 12-point Times New Roman font (10-point for footnotes).
• Indent the first line of paragraphs at 5 spaces (0.6″).
• Do not include extra blank lines between paragraphs.
• Use section heading levels per the Turabian sample paper providing paper structure.
• Include page numbers per Turabian format (use sample paper with headings template).
• Include a contents page and bibliography.
• Include a title page with your name, student ID number, course number/section, instructor’s name, and date. The title page does not count towards the word count.
• Must include an introduction with a thesis statement, paper purpose and overview statement of paper contents. Example: This paper seeks to explore (section 1, section 2,

section 3 heading names, in order to demonstrate A, B, and C in support of [thesis] and apply 1, 2, and 3). • Must include a conclusion section.
• A reference style bibliography with footnotes is required; no parenthetical citations or endnotes are permitted.
• The body of the paper should have no less than 3 sections that are listed with a topical section heading to include description and prescription sections. You may have as many subsections as needed to structure your paper and support the main sections.
