Nurse leaders are often charged with identifying and addressing gaps between current evidence and current standards of practice within their organizations. This assignment requires you to identify an evidence-based gap within a selected organization, implementing a plan (best practice), evaluating then disseminating the outcomes to your colleagues. The purpose of this gap analysis assignment is to provide you with a strategy to formulate your problem in the form of a research question and then internally determine deficiencies and organizational performance. Using the PICOT method to formulate your research question, evaluate evidence-based findings, compare it to your current practice, and then disseminate your research finding to your CEO, CFO and interdisciplinary administration team.
Create an 18-page PowerPoint presentation and include the following information:
• Create measurable objectives for the presentation (What do you plan to achieve by presenting this information?)
• Formulate your PICOT question by identifying the following– P-Population, I-intervention, C-comparison, O-Outcome T-time.
• Identify your current practice strategies regarding your initiative and the impact it will have on patient outcomes.
• Identify how this implementation will impact your organization from a budgetary perspective.
