  4. What is a specific example of when you have used critical thinking and clinical reasoning in practice, and how you made these decisions focusing on describing your thought process for the situation?
  5. Describe an example of potential in the clinical setting for safety violations or unsafe practice. How you would respond and correct this practice?
  6. Nursing is an area that requires team work. There are nurses with different educational backgrounds, work ethic, and there may be three generations working together, all at once, in your unit. Name two potential problems based on these issues that you might anticipate and how would you address these problems?
  7. You are expected to be an active member of the healthcare team in this organization. What is one specific example of how you could collaborate on a multidisciplinary healthcare team, and one specific example of how you could actively contribute to the unit’s operations and to the organization based on the job you are applying for?
  8. In your regular practice on the unit, you have witnessed a co-worker engaged in unethical behavior. Describe the incident. How would you proceed to address the issues related to the behavior?
  9. On your unit there is a procedure being done that is considered “old practice”. You have learned from the evidence in the literature, that there is a more current way to do it. Provide a specific example, and indicate how you would you go about expressing yourself and trying to make a difference to enact change. What issues might be involved in this?
  10. What is your style of communication between patients and healthcare team peers? How do you manage when team members have very different styles of communication and perhaps cultural differences from one another, and provide an example to resolve the different styles and cultural issues?
