Adapting Health Promotion Materials for Client Populations:
The purpose of this assignment is to develop a short power point presentation to educate health care professionals on adapting written health information materials for low health literacy and culturally diverse populations. Keep in mind that this presentation should be appropriate for a professional audience. Limit your presentation to 20 slides. Note: if you find that your presentation is less than 12 slides, it may not adequately cover the assignment requirements. Title slide and a reference slide do not count toward the slide limit. Do not include comments on the ‘notes’ section of your slides.
Your presentation should cover the following content:

1. Define Health Literacy (in your own words) 1 point
2. Defend the need for tailoring health promotion strategies to the health literacy level of client populations. 2 points
3. Describe populations at risk for low health literacy. 1 point
4. Select one of the populations at risk for low health literacy
5. Provide specific instructions for formatting and visual presentation of heath information materials. 3 points
6. Propose specific strategies to promote health literacy for this population both within health care organizations (at the organizational level) and in community agencies. 3points
7. Describe 3 strategies to adapt interventions to culturally diverse groups using evidence based strategies. 3points
