Cybersecurity Capstone

For the CyberSecurity capstone project, students will implement:

Cybersecurity Capstone Project & Final Presentation: Individual students or teams of 2-3 students (no exceptions) will work on securing an organization that meets the criteria of any of the topics covered in the textbook chapters as per the course schedule. Regardless of the topic, students will implement: Risk management strategies, will research and implement products (at least 2) that could serve as countermeasures against potential attacks, implement security features on the network (with special on the chapters mentioned in the course schedule), and develop alternate solutions based upon cost and level of security required (specific to the topic chosen and methodologies described in the chapter where the topic was selected from). Each team (2-3 students) or individual students will formally present their respective projects to the entire class in a PowerPoint presentation and will demo a technical solution approach. Please refer to the Cybersecurity Capstone Project guidelines. Capstone Project is worth up to 25 points. Final Presentation with demo is worth up to 15 points.

Students will work in team of 3-4-5 and work on securing an organization that meets the criteria of any of the topics covered in the textbook chapters as per the course schedule

  • Select a recent hack that your team/group would like to work on
  • Provide background/information about business that was hacked.
  • Explain how hack was carried out.
  • Research and implement security features on the network (with special on the chapters mentioned in the course schedule)
  • Research and implement specific products (at least 2-3) that could serve as countermeasures against potential attacks
  • Research and implement Risk management strategies

Each team (2-3 students) will formally present their respective projects to the entire class in a:

  • PowerPoint presentation and
  • Demo technical solutions/products you recommend that would serve as countermeasures against potential attacks


NOTE – Develop alternate solutions based upon cost and level of security required (specific to the topic chosen and methodologies described in the chapter where the topic was selected from).
