BSN Student Learning Outcomes
In our BSN program, there are specific endpoints, or outcomes, that students are expected to achieve by the end of the program. These Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) provide a framework for the expected nursing practice decisions and behaviors that the student should achieve by the end of the BSN program. Throughout the BSN program, in each course you had learning activities that enable you to meet these SLOs. As you are in the final class, we will now assess and reflect upon how you have personally met the BSN Program Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) through the many course activities. This assignment provides an opportunity for you to look back on the entire program as you have completed courses during the BSN program. Take time now to reflect and examine how the courses, learning activities, and resources in classes and through your practicum experiences have helped you to achieve the expected BSN level of knowledge and practice. This assignment is about you; not nursing in general or the people you work with, but you!
This assignment is to complete the table of BSN Student Learning Outcomes (Word document provided separately). It is not a formal paper; therefore there is no abstract required, but there is a cover page required and a reference page added at the end as per APA guidelines starting on a new page. All content should be written in first person with single spacing between lines. Do not change the format/layout of the table or page margins.
The following is a list of the BSN Program Student Learning Outcomes and they are also listed in the SLO table for this assignment. You will identify and describe in detail how you have met each SLO, giving detailed examples for each, naming the specific course and specific activity, and how learning activities throughout the BSN program have enabled you to meet the Student Learning Outcomes for Columns 2 and 3. This assignment also includes an introduction and conclusion that discusses program evaluation and the importance of applying previous learning to present professional practice (follow the prompt instructions located at the beginning and end of the table respectively and answer the question accordingly).
