Leadership in Organisations: Reflective Journal

The Journal is worth 30% of the module mark. It is a single, individual task.

Task:

Write a Reflective Journal about your personal experiences of leading and/or following leaders (e.g. at work, school, university, in clubs, other groups, with family etc). Use relevant leadership concepts from academic articles, lectures, or books. Include: a brief introduction, a concise explanation of key concepts, consistent reflection and critical analysis of leadership evidence from your experiences, and a short conclusion. Emphasise essay structure, key concepts, and core themes. Cite and reference sources accurately.

• Answers should be 900 to 1,000 words long (excluding references)
• The answer should be structured, signposted, and formatted as a short essay or journal.
• Deadline is available on FASER

Additional instructions

• Your assignment should be clearly written following academic conventions.
• Your assignment must contain a COVER PAGE with the Module Name, Module Code, your Student Registration number, and your Essay Title. Do not include your name here.
• Word-process the assignment, in a MS Word compatible format, font size 12pt, 1.5 lines spacing and page numbers. PDF is acceptable, but MS Word is preferable.
• Use the Harvard Referencing System.
• The total word count must be within the 900 to 1000 word limit stated, references excluded.
• Remember, your work needs to be grounded in academic literature. You can reference relevant academic articles, journals, and books available through the University Library.
• Keep the use of popular sources such as blogs, Wikipedia, discussion fora, social media, and similar sites to the enrichment of context or examples. Analysis and use of leadership theory or concepts should not be based on these, but on academic peer-reviewed sources.
• Remember that material from the Worldwide Web must be referenced appropriately. Also, state the date you “last accessed” these sources.
• All electronically submitted work will be checked for plagiarism.
