You must answer all of the questions below individually.
From the topics that you have been working with in the two articles that you selected. You will be developing your own survey and interview questions latter in this assignment.
Your selected should have been a topic that examines COVID alongside another social factor or aspect such as education, economic difficulty or poverty, mental health, abuse, domestic violence, social separation, depression, social isolation, social distancing, or any other social factor of your choosing. Your selected topic must have COVID and another social factor within it. You should have selected a topic that you are really passionate about. A topic that you really want to know about.
You should have visited the University of West Georgia library and/or its online library database to obtain your two scientific peer reviewed articles on your carefully chosen topic. You must upload and submit the two peer reviewed articles that you have been working it again with this assignment during the submission stage.
Chapters 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 discuss experiments, survey, field research and in-depth interviews, existing data analysis, and multiple methods. See the chapters’ lecture recordings on their nature and procedures.
- State and explain two strengths of quantitative research (see chapters 7 & 8 lecture recording).
- In this assignment, bearing in mind the nature of each research methodology, in your own words, what is the difference between a survey (topic discussed in chapter 8) and an experiment (topic discussed in chapter 7 in slides # 11-12, 14).
- State and explain two strengths of an experiment (topic discussed in chapter 7 in slides # 19-20).
- Why are closed-ended instead of open-ended questions preferred in survey research? Provide two reasons (see chapter 8 lecture recording explanation in slide # 6).
- Discuss the differences between the following types of surveys – trend study and panel study in your own words (see chapter 8 lecture recording explanation in slide # 8).
- State and explain two strengths of qualitative research (see chapter 8 and 9 lecture recordings).
- Select two out of the six features (observations, interviews, supplementary archival and other data, nonprobability sampling, qualitative data analysis and reflexivity) of qualitative research and explain them concisely (see chapter 9 lecture recording explanation in slides # 7 – 8).
- Discuss the differences between overt and covert observations in the context of qualitative research (see chapter 9 lecture recording explanation in slide # 9).
- Write two survey questions related to your selected COVID topic in the articles that you read. These questions must be closed ended.
- Interview one person face-to-face wearing mask or virtually on two questions related to the COVID topic that you selected. These interview should be open ended. Explain your findings.
