Paper Requirements
This is a 5-page paper (not including title, abstract or reference pages) that will explore TWO different teaching strategies. Choose the strategies from the following web site
MERLOT PEDAGOGY PORTAL (http://pedagogy.merlot.org/TeachingStrategies.html)
After selecting the two strategies you want to discuss, go to the library and find two scholarly, peer reviewed articles (each less than five years old), one for each strategy.
*Remember that there is a host of literature about teaching strategies that comes from outside nursing, so diversify your search using educational databases, not only nursing databases.
Write Your Paper
• Start your paper with an introduction.
Address the following areas for EACH teaching Strategy
- The chosen strategy is comprehensively described
- The research article is outlined and major findings are highlighted.
- Advantages of the strategy are discussed
- Disadvantages of the strategy are discussed
- There is discussion around:
a. Whether the student has experienced the strategy
b. How the strategy was used and if it was effective
c. If the student has no experience with a strategy, the student offers an example and analysis about how effective the strategy might be
• Finish you paper with a conclusion that has greater depth than simple summary
