• Read Chapter 17, “Understand Your Roles,” pages 209-220, The Practice of Adaptive Leadership (Heifetz, Grashow & Linsky, 2002).
• Read Chapter 18, “Articulate Your Purposes,” pages 221-222, The Practice of Adaptive Leadership (Heifetz, Grashow & Linsky, 2002).
Activity
Step 1
After completing the required reading, conduct additional research to identify critical areas for SWOT analysis of your organization.
Step 2
Create a SWOT analysis table using the example format provided in R5201 Exercise of Executive Leadership: Self or using a standard template found through an internet search.
Use at least four standards identified in NFPA 1500 as a baseline/reference.
Step 3
The SWOT analysis table will serve as an appendix in the essay assignment.
Essay Assignment #3
Instructions:
Write a short essay that explains your SWOT analysis to include the relationships between the components and how the analysis could be used to determine future organizational strategies and allocation of resources.
The essay must adhere to the criteria below:
• The essay must be at least 500 words, following APA format.
• The essay must include at least one reference to a required reading.
• The essay must include at least one outside reference.
• The essay must incorporate the SWOT table and refer to its content
