A Safe, Healthy, Prepared, and Resilient Organization

Key Information
Students must determine how a safe and healthy organization translates to a prepared and resilient organization by identifying specific components, or critical indicators, as perceived by the organizational lens versus reality.

Activity
Step 1
After completing the required reading, conduct additional research to define each term below as it applies to the organization (while considering the needs of individuals within the organization):
• safe,
• healthy,
• prepared, and
• resilient
Step 2
Create and complete a matrix like the one below that outlines strategic (balcony) and tactical (dance floor) perspectives regarding the current state of your organization. Identify at least two critical indicators for each (i.e., what can be measured that indicates success or failure).

Step 3
The matrix will serve as an appendix in the essay assignment.

Instructions:
Write an essay that:
• defines a safe, healthy, prepared, and resilient organization;
• identifies critical indicators for each; and
• describes the existing state of your own organization in relation to those definitions and indicators.
The essay must adhere to the criteria below:
• The essay must be at least 1000 words, following APA format.
• The essay must include at least two textbook references.
• The essay must include at least two published article references.
• The essay must incorporate the matrix as an appendix and refer to its contents
