Students should pick an event that they believe reveals something significant and insightful about the relationship between race, gender, and sport.
Students should integrate course concepts (see course learning outcomes) and reading to strengthen their analysis of the event. Please make sure to include a description of the event in addition to your analysis.
Examples of events include: Antonio Brown’s dismissal from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Peng Shuai’s sexual assault allegations, or Kyrie Irving’s vaccine refusal.
Papers should demonstrate an understanding of sports history and have a clear argument. The essays should be 2-3 pages or 2-3 minutes (video or audio). Please cite your work in MLA format.
